Maxitours at brilliant Bramall Park

A terrific day was enjoyed by all at classy Bramall Park.

The fairways were fantastic and drying out before the players eyes. This friendly course is always hugely enjoyable to play and everyone loved it.

‘I thought it may be wet but it wasn’t -it’s superb out there!’ Declared Maxitours regular Mick Mahon. Thanks to everyone at the Club for their excellent hospitality today.

Only two teams scored better on the back nine than the front nine as the tough stretch from the 10th to the 12th took its toll. Dave More O’Farrells team played those holes in style and were flying before scoring a big fat zero on the ‘easy’ 14th.

Report is shorter than normal as my computer stopped working at midday.

Third place went to Davyhulme’s charismatic Kev Hart, Paul Yearsley, Mark Foley and Jimmy Smith on 84 points.

They were beaten on a card play off by Stockport’s Andrew Hill, Frazer Macload Steve Mobley and Scott Taylor.

Winning today was Prestburys Cheshire senior duo Iain Bartholomew (1)and Martin Keates (3)who teamed up with Dentons Gary Owen(5) and Alistair Holloway(14) to score 88 points. ‘Barty ‘ scored three birdies on the front nine and then big hitting Keates made eagle on the 14th to seal the deal. Well played chaps.
