Dear Maxitours player,

Great news!

Maxitours resumes as Cavendish Golf Club kindly replaces Dunham Forest for our first event back on Thursday 4th June.

I am limited to 21 teams so entry will be initially limited to those who were already down to play at Dunham. Please let me know if you wish to play at this Alastair Mackenzie masterpiece.

Some teams may be disappointed – I will give priority to teams who play every week and then work on a first come first served basis – I hate letting down my players but some teams may not get a game- apologies if this happens..

When the weather is nice there are very few better places to be than playing golf at Cavendish.

Tee times
12.50pm – 4pm

Entry Fee £25 Teams of 4

Please do not arrive more than 25 minutes before your tee time.
Meet your team with correct social distancing in the car park then move to practice green/ net 15 minutes before tee time
Move to the tee 5-10 minutes before your time when it is safe to do so.
I will have a propped open door in the clubhouse foyer.
All scorecards to be photograghed and whatsapped to me on completion of the round.

Dear Maxitours players,

I really hope you are all safe and well and looking forward to playing in some Maxitours events.
I personally feel fully refreshed and am ready to start work again!

After Boris’ announcement tonight we MAY start playing in four balls again which will open up more tee times and allow Maxitours to resume. I am sure England golf will let us know asap.

I have to inform you that the event at Dunham on Thursday 4th June is cancelled as their members have already booked these times but I am in negotiations with my other June venues and we hope to get started soon.

Please give me a couple of days and I will have more definite news!

Here is the final Winter/Spring Xentum Order of Merit.

Many thanks everyone for your support throughout the Winter, I hope you enjoyed playing the events as much as I enjoyed running them.

The final seven events were unfortunately cancelled so the Xentum Order of Merit after our final event at Dunham Forest in March will stand.

Congratulations to Sandiways Gary Neiles who just pips Wilmslows Paul Dalby into second and Sale’s Barney Ross takes third place.

Dear Maxitours players,

I really hope you are all safe and well and looking forward to playing some great golf on your home courses this week- brilliant.

I am waiting for England Golf guidelines to be clarified over the coming days to help me get a better idea as to when my events may restart.

Currently two balls, 10 minute intervals and member only golf looks to be the order of the day for at least a week but I will be in regular contact with venues and will let you know as soon as I get the green light for my events to proceed.

Take it easy on the course. After a long lay off don’t try and hit your country best off the 1st tee as you might do yourself an injury. (Especially older golfers like Paul Woodbine and Neale Laurent.)

Dear Maxitours player,

Firstly and most importantly I really hope you are all safe and well.

Many thanks to all those players who have wished me well over the past few weeks. My business has ground to a halt but Mrs Maxwell is restricted to buying essential goods only so I am managing to get by!

Hopefully there is now a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel and golf courses may open in a few weeks time (fingers crossed). I am sure you are looking forward to getting you golf careers back on track!! .

As soon as the government deems it is safe and we get the green light my events will of course resume immediately.
