Results from Monsterous Mottram !!!

The relentless rain on Wednesday meant the normally already challenging venue of Mottram Hall was playing brutally long and tough. The early starters got caught up in a few squally showers and with strong winds the conditions were tricky to say the least. As the afternoon wore on the sun came out and the winds softened but the key was to make your score on the front 9 and then hold on for dear life on the back 9. As one group commented “that back nine ate us up and spat us out” with only a handful of teams managing to better par on the back half all day. Winning team Dave Goodwin, Phil Robinson, Richard Williamson & Paul Woodbine were one of those teams posting a best of the bunch 42 points helped by an 8 point haul on the par 4 12th with two birdie nett eagles which helped them to victory on 82 points.

Thanks to all the friendly Mottram staff who kept you fed and watered and to my good friend Matt Turnock for once again doing a stellar job of running my event at his home club.
