Dear Maxitours players,
What a week!!!
I really, really enjoyed running this one.
Terrific weather, stunning golf courses and sixty brilliant clients.
‘They are the best greens I have ever putted on ‘ Declared loaded Phil Vokes after his final round at Quinta do Lago North -he has played all the top courses in the world.
Massive thanks to everyone for your integrity and being such a great group. Julie at Holidays 4golfers has also been outstanding and I highly recommend her services to all my players.
Everyones’ favourite Colin Roberts, Mike Tarrant, Paul Griffiths and big hitting James Wilson won todays daily event with a stunning 78 points. Cracking.
In the main overall event incredibly close scoring saw three teams sharing second place with some phenomenal last days golf.
We saw a charge from Kevin Harts team who were -9 for their first nine holes. They briefly took the lead before the enormity of the situation hit them and they battled home in 33 points to take 2nd place.
Dean McFadden shrugged off his toothache to see his team finish in 3rd position and the lovable Peter Roche Stockport team finished in a very credible 4th place.
Taking first place was Roger Percival, Martin France, Pete Atherton (heavy Ballesteros) and Andy Wright. These lads have enjoyed four previous Algarvian Masters trips but a win has always eluded them. They were overcome with emotion after victory today. Well played chaps – very popular winners indeed. They are pictured below on the 11th hole during todays round at Quinta North.
It is the presentation dinner tonight at the terrific Bovino restaurant. See you all at 6.15pm.
Finally, thanks to my lovely wife Suzy who lets me play golf and run these events. You are the best.
Safe travels,
Tim
Ps Any Maxitours players wishing to join the trip please let me know as spaces are already filling and I have already had enquiries from 3 new teams .
