Maxitours at outstanding Vale Royal

What a venue! Vale Royal was so good today even the course owner Steve Graham turned up to play. He should be a very proud man indeed. Vale Royal golf course is becoming a masterpiece.

After the recent dry spell the course was back to a beautiful lime green and the fairways and putting surfaces were superb.
‘That was an absolute pleasure to play.’ Reported Peter Maher.

The famous Vale Royal friendly fox was out again and it is becoming a bit of a tourist attraction.
‘I only play Vale Royal to see the fox. He’s like a tame dog, he’s a cracker.’ Reported wildlife lover Nigel Ashton.

Nearest the pins were won by two excellent shots. Simon Burrows hit a stunner to 20 inches on the 10th and under-rated Martin Quinn won nearest the pin on the 16th with another wonder strike.

Scoring was tough as the course was playing a little longer than usual.

My mate on the Europro tour always played with number 58 titliest balls as it was his goal to shoot that score every time he went out. It was a feat he never got close to achieving. Colin Baxendale is a lovely bloke and was a fine golfer when I knew him during my time at Mottram Hall. His team easily achieved that score today and it could’ve been even lower without steady Ian Jones on the team. They finished last by 9 shots.

After recent airport chaos plane spotter/ enthusiast Mal Potter had some air traffic control issues of his own today as his proV1 struggled to take off on a couple of fairways and he lost contact with three more as they disappeared off the radar into various Eaton ponds.

The two Eaton teams played well today for a change and finished 3rd and 4th . Jonty Little brought his team home in a remarkable best of the day 48 points to take 4th with 83 points, but experienced Neil Davies, Steve Jones, Paul Manning and Andy Parker pipped them with 84.

Geoff Bickerton, and father and son Gary and Jenson Myerscough took 2nd with 86 points Two birdies on the last put the icing on a great performance.
Taking the honours was Sean O’Connors(11) Sandiway team. Jim Barton(8), Phil Guest(6) and Paul Murray(10) all contributed well. Sean played well but twelve handicap Murray was mint as he recorded three birdies. Excellent golf chaps.

Thanks to everyone for your support today. Superb.
